Manchester City have not wasted any time in identifying and moving for targets in the summer transfer window.

The Citizens haven’t had the greatest of seasons, but by finishing in the Premier League’s top four, they have secured Champions League football.

This will make Manchester City more appealing to prospective new signings, and it’s already showing.

Tijjani Reijnders appears to be closing in on a move to Man City, while Morgan Gibbs-White is also firmly on the Citizens’ radar.

Now, it has been reported that Man City have agreed personal terms with another player, one who has been described as a “genius” and a “wizard with the ball”.

Rayan Cherki agrees to Manchester City terms

French football journalist Santi Aouna has taken to X to claim that Rayan Cherki has said yes to Man City, with personal terms not thought to be a problem.

Aouna also claimed Pep Guardiola played a big part in convincing Cherki after speaking to the player about the City project.

City are now favourites to seal a deal for Cherki, with talks ongoing between the various parties.

The journalist also claimed that City could be looking to pay around €40million (£36million) for Cherki.

What Rayan Cherki’s teammate recently said about Manchester City target that will get fans very excited

At just 21 years of age, Cherki has shown he has what it takes to shine at the highest level after a superb season with Lyon.

In 44 games, Cherki bagged 12 goals and a staggering 20 assists in all competitions for his club, including four goals and eight assists in the Europa League.

“He is the best natural talent I’ve ever seen,” teammate Ainsley Maitland-Niles – formerly of Arsenal – told BBC Sport earlier this year.

“An absolute master, a wizard with the ball. He’s taking chances, assists and dragging us up the pitch by taking people on and nutmegging them – he is a genius.

“He is two-footed, has no fear, keeps going and going, can get past people with such ease, such finesse.

“He is now working for the team off the ball and has gone to another level this season.”
