Manchester City have a track record when it comes to signing young players.

This summer transfer window saw the Manchester club land a deal for Brazilian winger Savinho from Troyes back in July.

After making his debut for the Blues in the second half of the Community Shield final against Manchester United, the summer recruit started and completed the first half of City’s 2-0 Premier League win over Chelsea.

Now though, with the transfer window set to close at the end of the month, some behind-the-scenes information has come to light regarding another Brazilian youngster the champions have their eyes on.

Brazil starlet Rayan Vitor reportedly wants to join Man City or Barcelona

According to a recent report from TuttoMercatoWeb, City and Barcelona have their eyes on Vasco de Gama winger Rayan Vitor.

The report also adds that numerous Italian clubs such as Udinese, Atalanta and Bologna have an interest in Rayan, who at this moment would prefer to join Fiorentina.

Rayan could be an exciting player in the future

Described as a “jewel” by talent scout Jack Kulig on X, Rayan scored three goals and delivered two assists in 11 appearances for Vasco de Gama’s U20 side.

With 27 senior appearances for the Brazilian club now under his belt, the 19-year-old has found the back of the net three times for his current side.

Across the 13 games he’s featured in across the latest Brazilian Serie A campaign, the winger has the third-highest rate of shots at goal per 90 minutes in the squad (3.04) as well as the third-highest rate of goal-creating actions per 90 minutes (0.44) and the second-highest rate of shot-creating actions per 90 minutes (4.58).

This highlights how much of an exciting attacking player the teenager is and how much of a star he could become in the future.

Moving forward, if Pep Guardiola feels Rayan could be an exciting addition to his squad even the academy initially, launching a move for the Brazilian could end up being a smart move for City.
