Manchester United and Newcastle United looked at a potential deal for Jeremy Doku before he moved to Manchester City.
That is according to The Independent, which has claimed why Manchester United and Newcastle United decided against making a move for Doku.
So, what has been said about Manchester United, Newcastle United, Manchester City and Jeremy Doku?
Let’s take a look.
What’s the story?
Well, Jeremy Doku has been one of the best signings in the Premier League so far this season.
Doku joined Manchester City from Rennes in the summer transfer window.
City, who won the Premier League, the UEFA Champions League and the FA Cup last season, paid £55.5 million in transfer fees for the 21-year-old Belgium international winger.
Doku has hit the ground running at City and has taken to the Premier League like a duck to water.
The City no. 11 has scored two goals and given five assists in eight Premier League matches.

The Belgian has scored one goal and given one assist in four UEFA Champions League games for Pep Guardiola’s side.
According to The Independent, both Manchester United and Newcastle United held interest in Doku.
The report has claimed that Manchester United and Newcastle “had also looked at him before, but felt he wasn’t yet developed enough”.
The Independent has added that the Red Devils and the Magpies thought that Doku “was too erratic as a player”.
Jeremy Doku better off at Manchester City than at Manchester United
In my opinion, Jeremy Doku is better off at Manchester City than at Manchester United.
City are a well-oiled machine who are winning trophies regularly and are playing wonderful football.
Manchester United are still in their ‘project’ phase.
They have not been the same club ever since Sir Alex Ferguson left.
City are now the English club that every footballer wants to come to.
I believe that Doku would have struggled at Old Trafford.
Just look at how the likes of Jadon Sancho and Antony are struggling at Manchester United under head coach Erik ten Hag.
