Manchester United’s Kobbie Mainoo sends wordless reaction to youngster now signing for Manchester City

A major facet of Manchester City’s transfer policy seems to be trying to sign some of the best young players in England and across Europe.

For instance, City signed 18-year-old Claudio Echeverri from River Plate before sending him out on loan — who is one of the most talented young midfielders in South America.

Similarly, Pep Guardiola’s side have also signed Savinho this summer — a player who could emerge as the Premier League’s breakthrough star this season.

So much so that Tony Cascarino recently named Savinho as one of the five best wingers in the Premier League already.

The eye for young talent at the Etihad Stadium is second to none — considering City signed Julian Alvarez in 2022, who emerged as a key contributor to their success and two years later, Atletico Madrid signed him for a whopping £82 million (Sky Sports).

From Manchester City’s seeming point of view, there is little risk associated with such signings.

Either such gems become first-team players or decide to leave with a massive resale value in a few years and if neither instance occurs, they either strengthen the youth sides.

Mainoo reacts to Divin Mubama signing for Manchester City

This summer, Manchester City have signed 19-year-old striker Divin Mubama from West Ham United.

According to Manchester Evening News, the Premier League winners have signed the youngster for £2 million.

The report claimed that Mubama has not been signed to play in City’s senior team.

Instead, the England Under-20 international will be a part of the Elite Development Squad.

The highly-rated prospect joined West Ham’s academy at the age of eight and after spending 11 years at the club, he has made the move to join the Sky Blues.

Upon signing for Manchester City, Mubama took to Instagram to caption his post: “New chapter.”

Mainoo commented on the post with a heart emoji.

Nico O’Reilly commented two fires emojis under his post while Micah Hamilton added a pair of sparkling symbol emojis.

Even former Liverpool and now-RB Salzburg midfielder Bobby Clark commented three fire emojis under his post.

Mubama is getting a lot of support from his teammates and he would especially be over the moon about a young player of Mainoo’s ilk expressing his happiness towards his big move.
