Manchester City had a very busy January transfer window.
Indeed, City spent over £100m in the winter, signing a number of big name players.
Abdukodir Khusanov is settling in at City after a shaky start to life in Manchester, while Vitor Reis also arrived as a defensive reinforcement last month.
Meanwhile, Omar Marmoush has received huge praise already since joining City, netting a notable hat-trick against Newcastle amid a string of other strong performances.
Speaking to Stadium Astro, Matheus Nunes has been discussing Marmoush’s start to life at City, and he says that he can already tell that the Egyptian is a real threat of a striker, claiming that he has incredible energy and movement.

Matheus Nunes says Omar Marmoush is a real threat
Nunes spoke about Marmoush and what he can tell about the attacker since his arrival in Manchester.
The midfielder says that Marmoush’s energy and movement is brilliant, while he can tell that he’s a constant threat.
“Specifically him (Marmoush), we knew he was doing good in the Bundesliga, like you said, his energy, his movement, you can tell that he’s always a threat. It’s good to have the other ones as well,” Nunes said.
“Khusanov has helped us a lot in this part of the season. The comments start to come in saying you’re not good enough, but we are, maybe we just need some fresh players. That’s what the manager did, they’re also future players for years to come.”
Manchester City’s best January signings
Marmoush is seriously impressing already at the Etihad, despite joining City at a rather low ebb.
The future looks bright for Marmoush, and while it’s early days, he could well rank among City’s best January additions if he keeps this level of performance up.
City have signed some brilliant player in the January transfer window over the years, and Marmoush has the potential to be up there with the best of them.
| Manchester City’s best January signings | Fee |
|---|---|
| Julian Alvarez | £14m |
| Aymeric Laporte | £57m |
| Gabriel Jesus | £25m |
| Edin Dzeko | £32m |
| Nigel De Jong | £15m |
Julian Alvarez is arguably City’s greatest ever January signing, but Marmoush looks every bit Alvarez’s replacement so far.
Pep Guardiola’s side aren’t having the best of seasons, but Marmoush has been a real bright spark in recent weeks.
