Manchester City are currently in a season of transition as Pep Guardiola looks to navigate his team through some choppy waters.
The Citizens have been England’s most dominant team over the past decade or so, but things haven’t quite gone to plan this season.
Manchester City are sadly set to relinquish the Premier League crown they’ve held over the past four seasons, with top four likely the best outcome this term.
However, the rebuild has already started at the Etihad Stadium, with a number of superb talents arriving at the club in January.
Ian Wright has now spoken highly about one of Man City’s winter signings, saying he’s going to be truly “brilliant” for the club.

Ian Wright says Omar Marmoush will be ‘brilliant’ for Manchester City
The player in question is Omar Marmoush, who has made a huge impact since arriving from Eintracht Frankfurt in a £59million deal.
The 26-year-old made headlines just over a week ago when he scored a first-half hat-trick in the Premier League win over Newcastle United.
And at the weekend, Marmoush found the back of the net against Liverpool, though it was ruled out for offside.
Now, Wright – speaking on Wrighty’s House – has spoken highly of Marmoush, tipping him to become a star for the Citizens.
“Marmoush is fantastic,” he said. “And I think that he’s gonna be brilliant here because even the goal what he scored that was disallowed was fantastic.”
However, Wrighty did also comment on City’s current predicament, saying he didn’t know how Pep Guardiola was going to fix things.
“But like I’m looking at the City team and it just, it’s at the moment, I don’t know what he’s gonna do to get it back to where it needs to be.
I don’t know what he’s gonna do. He’s obviously gonna have to spend a lot of money because at the moment, mentally and physically they don’t look nowhere near it.”
What Manchester City fans can expect from Omar Marmoush in the long term
Mido, Marmoush’s former coach, has claimed that Man City fans can expect a real superstar in their new signing.
Mido says Marmoush has the character and quality to thrive at the highest level.
“I’m not surprised with his ethic from last weekend, I know him very well,” Mido told talkSPORT.
“I know that he is brave and has got the character to compete at the highest level, the boy has got quality.
“He’s very clever to get into the right movement with the right timing, and I think when the City team gets better and plays better, he will score more goals.
“He can play as a left winger, right winger, and believe me, he’s a good striker as well, if [Erling] Haaland is not there, he can do a job.
“This season I’m expecting him to do well and… I think he will be the star of the team next season.”
