Gary Lineker has said that in his opinion, Kyle Walker has ‘more to his game’ than Gary Neville did.
Speaking on The Rest Is Football podcast, the popular pundit gave his two cents on the debate between which of the two is England’s and the Premier League’s greatest ever right-back.
Gary Lineker is now siding with Kyle Walker over Gary Neville as the answer.
Gary Lineker says Kyle Walker is better than Gary Neville
Branded as an ‘elite performer’ by The Athletic, the £50 million (Guardian) man is already the best player to have ever played in his position in English football to many.
Micah Richards went as far as to say that the Manchester City right-back may be ‘the most improved player’ he has ever come across.
Gary Lineker has now delved into why he believes Kyle Walker has surpassed Gary Neville.

“I think Kyle Walker’s got a bit more to his game than Gary Neville. I’ve got massive respect for Gary Neville as a player and a person. I mean, his pace alone! He’s the one player in the world who can cope with Kylian Mbappe. And he has”, he explained.
Kyle Walker has now surpassed the Manchester United legend
Gary Lineker has hit the nail on the head as Kyle Walker certainly has more tools to his game than Gary Neville had in his heyday.
From a strictly defensive point of view, it is hard to name many full-backs to have ever played the game who are as guaranteed to tame an elite winger as Walker.
Going forward, it is neck-and-neck between the pair as while Neville had an incredible partnership with Beckham, the five-time Premier League winner was the best attacking right-back in the country at Tottenham.
But where Kyle Walker pips Gary Neville is his tactical flexibility as he has adapted admirably well to a multitude of responsibilities, be it playing as an inverted right-back, sitting in a back three or operating as a traditional full-back as well.
