Aston Villa star Morgan Rogers and Liverpool ace Conor Bradley have both shown love to Manchester City goalkeeper James Trafford on social media.
James Trafford – who recently returned to Manchester City from Burnley – has had a pretty decent year so far, it has to be said.
The goalkeeper excelled for Burnley over the course of the 2024/25 campaign, helping the Clarets win promotion to the Premier League.
Trafford’s heroics for Burnley led to City activating their buyback clause for the 22-year-old, paying £27million to bring him back to the Etihad Stadium.
Trafford then started City’s first Premier League game of the season and gave a great account of himself in the 3-0 win over Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Now, Trafford has won the Championship Player of the Year prize at the PFA awards, which took place in Manchester on Tuesday night.
It was one of two accolades he received – he was also named in the Championship team of the year.

Morgan Rogers and Conor Bradley show their love to James Trafford
Rogers, who won the PFA Young Player of the Year award, was just one of numerous footballers who showed love to the Manchester City goalkeeper.
Trafford took to Instagram to say: “Incredibly proud to be named the PFA Championship Players’ Player of the Year and included in the Team of the Year.
“A huge thank you to all the lads who voted. It’s an honour to be recognised by those I share the pitch with.”
In response, Rogers posted a red heart emoji, the same as what Bradley shared, while Premier League goalkeeping legend Ben Foster posted two applause emojis.
Hannibal Mejbri, his former teammate at Burnley, wrote “normal” along with three fire emojis, while former England youth teammate Harvey Davies posted three applause emojis.

Trafford said after winning the award: “I’m very proud to collect these awards and of what we achieved last season.
“We consistently put in really good defensive performances and it was great to have been a part of that.
“I loved my time at Burnley and improved massively as a goalkeeper and as a person.
“I am hoping to take all that into the new season now with Manchester City and looking forward to continuing my footballing journey.”
Noel Gallagher has already delivered James Trafford verdict
Oasis star and Man City fan Noel Gallagher was impressed by how Trafford played against Wolves.
Indeed, he feels City don’t necessarily need to prioritise a move for Gianluigi Donnarumma as Trafford looks like such a top talent.
“I’m not sure City would spend £50million on a keeper they can get for nothing soon, do you know what I mean? I’m not sure,” Gallagher told talkSPORT earlier this week.
“If we’d have gone to Wolves on Saturday and James played, and we’d have got beat 3-2 or something, there might be a case for it.
“But actually looking at him, he just looks quite solid, and he looked good with his feet.
“You know, he looked unflappable, came for the crosses, caught everything, made a couple of decent saves.
“Donnarumma was a great, great, great goalkeeper, for Champions League when you can’t have enough of them in your team.
“It might be great for Trafford to learn off him. But I don’t think there’s an urgency there.”
