Former Manchester City defender Nedum Onuoha has admitted he will be devastated if Ilkay Gundogan leaves the club this summer.
The German’s future remains up in the air at the moment.

The £20 million star’s current contract with the club expires at the end of the season.
Gundogan confirmed recently that he was in talks with the club. A decision will be communicated once the season ends.
Many fans are worried, because a number of clubs have reportedly been showing interest in the 32-year-old. The main suitor seems to be Barcelona.
Gundogan sent a message to City officials at the weekend with a brilliant performance against Everton.
He scored two sublime goals, and also set up Erling Haaland.
His first goal was seriously impressive, and is surely a contender for Goal of the Month at least.
City fans are used to Gundogan turning it on at the business end of the season. He just seems to have a brilliant knack of performing when the pressure is on.
Former City defender Onuoha spoke about Gundogan on The Football Show podcast. And he says he would be absolutely gutted if he left the club.

He said: “It’s amazing. The ability to think that quickly and be able to execute. Once he’s taken the touch on his thigh, no believes he’s going to get a shot off. Which is why I think Pickford ends up not getting anywhere near it.
“It’s not normal to see someone in that position. He’s been such a good player for Man City. I’ll personally be devastated if he leaves in the summer. Because he’s done so well for them over the last few years.
“Also, Man City players pick their captain and Gundogan is their captain. So the fact he’s stepping up at this point in the season says a lot about how good he is and how much the club respect him as well.”

Many fans will share Onuoha’s opinion about Gundogan.
He certainly has been such a good player for the club over the years, and it’s clear he’s still playing at a very high level.

Hopefully there will be a breakthrough in the contract negotiations between him, his team and the club.
Gundogan just brings so much.
His versatility, experience and leadership are absolutely vital traits. The City dressing room would definitely be worse off if he left.
