Manchester City know what it’s like to take on Liverpool in a Premier League title race.
Since Pep Guardiola took charge of City back in 2016, the Blues have lifted six Premier League trophies whereas Liverpool have won one.
In the six seasons where the Manchester club won the league, the Reds finished second behind them on two occasions, with City coming second in the year Liverpool won it.
The Blues are currently on the hunt to bring a fifth consecutive top-flight title to the Etihad Stadium after beating Arsenal to the trophy in their two previous campaigns.
With six league games played for each side, one pundit and former City player has made a claim regarding how he views Liverpool right now in comparison to the Citizens and the Gunners.

Nedum Onuoha makes Man City claim involving Liverpool and Arsenal
When asked in a recent Q&A on the BBC Sport website how successful Liverpool could be this season in terms of winning trophies, Nedum Onuoha said this in response.
He said: “Talent-wise, they’re as good as City and Arsenal in my opinion and their start has been really impressive.
“But that’s more so because we didn’t know what they would look like with their new manager. We now see familiar faces shining and it feels like something we’ve felt before.
“I imagine most people are just wary of overreacting but I imagine they’ll be there or thereabouts when trophies are being played for come the end of the season, with continued good health of that talented squad they have.”
How have Liverpool started the season under Slot?
After seeing Jurgen Klopp bring an end to his time at Anfield, Liverpool appointed Arne Slot ahead of the current season.
The Dutchman has since gone on to see his side win five of their six league games, losing the other one whilst scoring 12 goals and conceding just two along the way.
Despite Liverpool being the current leaders, Tony Cascarino recently said that he still thinks City are the favourites for the league title this year.
With Onuoha now saying that he feels Liverpool’s squad, which is the fourth-most expensive in the Premier League behind City, Arsenal and Chelsea according to Transfermarkt, is on par with the champions and Mikel Arteta’s side in terms of the talent they have in it, this latest title race could end up being a very tight one.
