Nedum Onuoha believes there could be an issue on the club’s end regarding a new contract for Ilkay Gundogan.
The midfielder is the talk of the town at the moment, having scored four goals in his last two Premier League games.

The German put in a sensational display against Everton on Saturday, with his first goal being talked about as a potential Goal of the Season contender.
Gundogan always tends to come especially good in the final stages of a season.
There is something about the last couple of months of a campaign that he really seems to love.
Of course, he’s always great for City though. And that’s why so many fans are anxious about his contract situation.
At the moment, talks are ongoing.
With City hunting the Treble, it is highly unlikely an announcement will be made while the season is still live.
Barcelona are thought to have strong interest in Gundogan. Fabrizio Romano claimed recently that they think he is really underrated.

Onuoha was speaking about Gundogan on The Football Show podcast following his goals against Everton.
He heaped praise on him, and stated that he would be devastated if he left the club. He then gave his two cents about the situation.
He said: “I think there’s an issue somewhere in terms of the negotiations. Because from what I gather, it seems like he wants to stay and Pep Guardiola wants to stay. But the club probably have a different sort of view on it. As I say, it would be a shame to see him leave.”
Manchester City must try and find a contract agreement with Ilkay Gundogan
City have been reminded just what an important and influential player Gundogan still is in the last few weeks.
All the talk about him leaving at the end of the season is very worrying.

It is still unclear what exactly the hold up is in the negotiations.
Onuoha is close to the club and seems to think the club is currently at odds with what Gundogan wants.
He’s given the impression he wants to stay as has Guardiola, so hopefully an agreement will soon be reached.
