Guido Albers – the agent of Manchester City target Gabriel Misehouy – has now squashed talk of his client moving to the Etihad Stadium.
The negotiator spoke to the Pantelic Podcast.
So, what is the latest on Manchester City target Gabriel Misehouy? Let’s take a look…
Gabriel Misehouy latest
Well, it was Algemeen Dagblad who claimed that Manchester City are closely monitoring the 18-year-old’s situation as he struggles to agree a new contract with Ajax.
Misehouy’s current terms expire at the end of the season.
Now – however – it sounds as if the teenager will stay at Ajax and attempt to make it in Amsterdam.
As quoted by Voetbal Zone, Albers said: “I’ve never spoken to City, and never with another foreign club. My only goal with Gabriel is to reach Ajax 1 (Ajax’s first-team).”
Misehouy himself has previously said: “It is great that such a top club is interested, but I have always said that it is my dream to stay at Ajax. I just want to have a clear plan.”
Therefore – by the sounds of it – the Dutchman and his agent are fully focused on Ajax, which suggests a move to Manchester City will not materialise in 2024.

That comes as a shame for the treble winners, as Misehouy appears to be a huge talent.
The Netherlands Under-19 international has previously been described as a “wonderkid” by “connoisseurs of the game” – according to the Guardian – while he has also captained Ajax on several occasions in the youth ranks.
Manchester City could still sign Gabriel Misehouy
While the Amsterdam-born prospect and his agent are prioritising Ajax, his contract situation remains the same.
As things stand, Misehouy will be leaving on a free transfer this summer.
Therefore, Manchester City should remain alert to the situation, despite what Albers told the Pantelic Podcast.

If no agreement can be found, Misehouy would surely be content to move to Manchester City, where he would have a great chance of realising his immense potential under Pep Guardiola.
Be sure to keep an eye on this situation, as Txiki Begiristain is surely going to do exactly that.
