Pep Guardiola has given numerous academy players the chance to play in Manchester City’s first team.
Specifically, the 53-year-old has given Premier League debuts to academy graduates such as Phil Foden, Tommy Doyle, Liam Delap, Rico Lewis and James McAtee, among others.
Another player to have spent some time in City’s youth ranks before being a regular figure in Guardiola’s senior squad is Oscar Bobb.
In his first full campaign as part of the first team last season, the winger appeared in 26 matches across all competitions, starting seven of them.
With the new season around the corner, Bobb has shared some behind-the-scenes details on which players from the senior ranks helped him settle in the most.

Oscar Bobb says Jack Grealish helped him settle in at Man City
When discussing which members of the City squad helped him settle into becoming a regular first-team player, Bobb had this to say in a recent video shared on the Rising Ballers YouTube channel.
He said: “Ruben [Dias] helps me a lot and [is] one of the best role models I think anyone can have.
“Another one that helped me a lot was Jack. He’s such a nice guy and when a player with his respect accepts you, you feel very welcome.”
Grealish has a top personality
Since joining the Manchester club back in 2021 from Aston Villa in a deal worth a club record fee of £100m, Grealish has shared the dressing room with numerous players, including the younger talents Guardiola has given senior debuts to such as Bobb.
Now that the Norwegian has highlighted how much Grealish has helped him behind the scenes, this further highlights the character and personality the Englishman has and what sort of person he is.
It also shows what the winger offers in the dressing room rather than just being a useful player on the pitch.
