It has been reported that Bayern Munich forward Leroy Sane is unlikely to sign for Manchester City.
This revelation emerged from The Athletic after it was claimed on Thursday that Pep Guardiola’s men were interested in getting a deal over the line for the German international in the summer.
But now, it seems like Sane may not end up joining Manchester City.
Leroy Sane signing for Manchester City is “unlikely”
Branded as “outstanding” by Germany boss Julian Nagelsmann (via Bundesliga’s official website), the 27-year-old has a case for being the most in-form winger in world football.
Leaving the Etihad Stadium to join Bayern for a £44.7 million (Sky Sports) fee, the two-time Premier League winner looks like he has finally pieced things together at the Allianz Arena.
But now, a return to Manchester City has been deemed “unlikely” for Leroy Sane.

One reason behind this is if the former Schalke speedster were to make his way to the Premier League once again, it is believed that a move to London would appeal to him.
In addition, joining some of La Liga’s biggest teams might be an even bigger draw for Sane, with Real Madrid reported to be keeping tabs on him.
Of course, Bayern are keen to tie the Manchester City-linked dribbler Leroy Sane down to a new contract as well.
Manchester City have no reason to be overly disappointed
With the three-time Bundesliga winner looking like the most complete version of himself, one can understand why those at City who were interested in his arrival might be disappointed upon hearing this revelation.
But at the end of the day, Manchester City have experienced life without Leroy Sane and ended up becoming a much better side in the future.
While Sane may be a better wide forward than any of their current options, the system comes first at the club, which Guardiola has managed to make tick and how, winning the treble last season.
With Jeremy Doku expected to get better and better, perhaps he could even surpass Leroy Sane as a player.
