Manchester City have shown late interest in Eberechi Eze in the transfer window – and today he showed why Pep Guardiola is keen on him.
City are looking to add one more midfielder with less than a week to go now until the window close.
Earlier this week, it was reported that City are considering two players – Eze and Matheus Nunes of Wolves.
Either player is going to be expensive, given the late stage of the window. Indeed, it has been claimed that Palace value Eze at around £70 million.
Nunes appears to be the player City are most keen on out of the two.
But Eze is bound to be under consideration until the end – and today for Crystal Palace he showed why City are interested.

Today in the Premier League, Palace played out a 1-1 draw with Brentford.

Kevin Schade gave the Bees the lead after 18 minutes, but Palace equalised through Joachim Andersen with around 20 minutes to go.
On Soccer Saturday, Clinton Morrison was covering the game.
And he couldn’t help put in a nice word for the Eagles’ number 10.
With Palace trailing in the first-half, Morrison said: “Brentford have been dominating. But Palace are having little moments with Eze, who has been outstanding in that little pocket and causing problems
Eze shows he’d be great for City
So Eze has played really well in his first game since being linked with a move to City.
At this stage, he does appear to be behind Nunes on City’s shortlist for a new midfielder.
But he really would be a cracking addition for the Citizens.

The coming week is going to be absolutely fascinating. Hopefully, the club can come through and sign one of Eze or Nunes, because the pool of options is a little light right now.
And it will be especially important if Kalvin Phillips leaves, even though he features as little as he does.
