It has been reported that Dani Olmo, who has been linked with a transfer to Manchester City has a £51.4 million release clause.
This comes from Mundo Deportivo, when discussing the Spanish international’s brand-new contract until 2027 that he signed with RB Leipzig this summer.
Now, it seems like Manchester City could well have a chance of re-igniting their interest in Dani Olmo by simply paying his release clause.
Dani Olmo has £51.4 million release clause amid Manchester City links
Branded as ‘outstanding’ by Marco Rose (via Bundesliga’s official website), the 25-year-old was being monitored by City, as per a report in August, with Pep Guardiola believed to ‘appreciate’ him as well.
In fact, Rose was coy on the ex-Dinamo Zagreb forward’s future just three weeks ago before it was settled that he was set to stay put at Leipzig.
Now, it has indeed been revealed that Manchester City-linked attacker Dani Olmo has a release clause worth £51.4 million in his new contract.

It has also been claimed that the versatile operator has been dreaming of a return to boyhood club Barcelona for years and is keen on a move to an elite side, with the likes of City, Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid all interested in his signature.
Pep Guardiola would surely consider Dani Olmo as a potential addition
Whether Manchester City trigger the release clause to sign the two-time DFB Pokal winner or not next summer, it would not be an outlandish assumption to make that Pep Guardiola would be tempted by a move for him.
Olmo’s excellent technique and malleability to be able to play across the front three as well as in the hole makes him one of Europe’s most intelligent attacking players.
Considering Guardiola is known to appreciate versatility coupled with technical security, he would perhaps see the pros in signing him.
With Dani Olmo adding more goals to his game this season, the prospect of him working with the Catalan seems like a match made in heaven.
