Manchester City have got their journey towards potentially winning a fifth consecutive Premier League title off to a strong start.
With three league games played City have won all of them, scoring nine goals and conceding two in the process to put themselves at the top of the table.
Their latest outing saw Pep Guardiola’s side pick up a 3-1 win over West Ham United away from home as they now head into the first international break of the season as league leaders.
Following this match, a pundit and former City player pinpointed one current figure at the Manchester club and shared his verdict on what he saw from the player at the weekend.
Owen Hargreaves likens Erling Haaland to Michael Jordan
After seeing Erling Haaland score another hat-trick in City’s win at the London Stadium, Owen Hargreaves said this about the 24-year-old in a recent edition of The Kelly & Wrighty Show by Premier League Productions (via Optus Sport).
He said: “He’s crazy, honestly. I don’t know he’s just like created in a lab to score goals, the size and the speed, the finishing.
“His efficiency looks sharper this year, he gets a lot of chances because he’s a great runner and he’s smart, he’s got good a turn, he’s a good finisher but he looks more efficient this year in front of goal.
“One thing I would say is that defending against him has been horrendous so far.
“Literally, the first goal is like a parting of the waves, you could drive a truck through the middle. You can’t give Erling Haaland that space.
“The second one he gets on to his left so when the guy’s that good, like Michael Jordan, they used to say you can’t defend on your own against Michael Jordan, you’ve got to do it with numbers and I think with Haaland you’ve got to try and be physical with him, bump him, get him out of stride.
“Every time he makes a run he’s always free, nobody bumps him.”

Starting all three of City’s league games this season, the Norwegian has found the back of the net seven times.
In fact, the 24-year-old has racked up more shots on target (9) than any other player in the division at this point in the campaign.
Hargreaves isn’t the only pundit to share his praise for the City striker after his efforts in East London, as Jamie Redknapp said that Haaland looks better than he ever has.
With Hargreaves likening what’s needed to defend against Haaland to what it was like for basketball players to defend against Jordan, this showcases just how high the pundit rates the City star.
