Manchester City have been involved in multiple transfer deals over the latest summer transfer window.
In addition to seeing Julian Alvarez and Sergio Gomez leave the club, City have landed deals to bring Savinho and Ilkay Gundogan to the Etihad Stadium.
Since then, Pep Guardiola’s side have won both of their opening Premier League games of the new season.
With just under a week left until the summer transfer window closes, a pundit has now shared his thoughts on another player the Manchester club have been linked with recently.

Paul Merson assesses potential Man City transfer move for Kyogo Furuhashi
After it was recently reported that City have identified Celtic striker Kyogo Furuhashi as a potential late transfer target, Paul Merson had this to say on the matter on Sky Sports News (12:23 pm).
He said: “The thing with him going to Manchester City, which ticks the box, is he plays for Celtic, the other team sits 10 behind the ball, like Man City are up against every week.
“So he knows how to play against that. He has got good movement. I can see how that would work.”
Furuhashi would be a useful attacking option for Guardiola
Since joining Celtic back in 2021, the 29-year-old has scored 73 goals in 135 appearances across all competitions.
Scoring 14 goals in 38 SPFL games last season, the Japanese international ended the campaign with the fifth-highest total of shots at goal (101) and fourth-highest for shots on target (37) in the division.
Having proved himself as a capable goalscorer, Furuhashi could be a useful addition to Guardiola’s squad, especially since Alvarez left the club.
Now that Merson, who bagged 147 goals in 725 games in his playing career, has shared how much he thinks a move for Furuhashi could make sense for City, it’ll be interesting to see if this becomes a reality before the end of the month.
