Manchester City will be back on home turf for their next Premier League match on Saturday afternoon.

After two away matches against Newcastle United and Slovan Bratislava, City will be taking on Fulham in the Premier League for their latest game at the Etihad Stadium.

Having drawn their two previous league games against Arsenal and Newcastle, Pep Guardiola will want to see his side pick up all three points and keep their unbeaten streak going.

With six league matches played, City have won four and drawn two, scoring 14 goals in the process but conceding six, keeping just one clean sheet along the way.

Looking ahead to Saturday’s meeting with Marco Silva’s side, one pundit and former Premier League star has shared his early thoughts on how this match could pan out for the Blues.

Paul Merson shares Man City vs Fulham prediction

In his latest column for Sportskeeda where he previewed and predicted the scores for all of this weekend’s Premier League matches, Paul Merson shared this forecast about the Manchester club’s game against Fulham.

He said: “Fulham are doing quite well and are right up there with the teams chasing a European berth this season.

“They’ve obviously recruited very well with Emile Smith Rowe and Reiss Nelson already making an impact. Both of them were deemed not good enough to get into the Arsenal XI, but they’re definitely making a difference at Fulham.

“This is still a difficult game for City. Fulham can cause them a few problems in transition. But I just think City have enough to get over the line. Manchester City 2-0 Fulham.”

Merson isn’t the only pundit to share his thoughts on this game, as Chris Sutton also backed City to beat Fulham and do something they’ve only been able to do once before this season.

How have Fulham started their season so far?

Out of their opening six matches of the campaign, the West London club have won three, drawn two and lost one, putting them sixth in the league table just three points behind City.

Interestingly, even though the Citizens have scored more goals than Fulham (14 vs 8), Silva’s side have conceded one fewer than the champions (5 vs 6).

One thing that City will have to be wary of is the crosses Fulham look to make as only Tottenham Hotspur (144) and Brighton & Hove Albion (140) have made more than them this season (130).

Even though Merson has predicted a home victory, City could still find Fulham tough to overcome.
