Paul Robinson has said that Manchester City goalscorer Erling Haaland did not look at his deadly best against Tottenham Hotspur.
On City’s official full-time show (via YouTube) after the 3-3 draw between both sides, the pundit focused on what was a rare off day for Haaland.
In the first-half, the 23-year-old fluffed two huge chances in front of goal that should have put Manchester City out of sight against the visitors at the Etihad Stadium.
Paul Robinson says Manchester City superstar Erling Haaland looked “out of sorts” against Tottenham
The £51 million (The Times) man did eventually set Jack Grealish’s goal up with a lovely cut-back that gave the hosts a 3-2 lead at the time.
But on the whole, the treble-winner, who Gabby Agbonlahor recently crowned as the best player in Europe struggled to influence proceedings against Ange Postecoglou’s side.
After Manchester City were held to their third draw in their three Premier League games, Paul Robinson felt Erling Haaland had a day to forget.

“Haaland, I thought was very quiet today. I thought he looked out of sorts a little bit. I think maybe the first chance early on knocked him early on when he potentially should have scored”, he told City’s full-time show.
A day to forget for Erling Haaland in every sense
As Paul Robinson mentioned, Erling Haaland failed to impose himself against Tottenham, which is one of the reasons why he did not enjoy his finest evening in a Manchester City shirt.
Considering Haaland has been especially lethal in front of goal in the big games this season, it was a shock to see him not tuck away multiple clear-cut opportunities.
But what must have felt like the biggest blow for the former Borussia Dortmund talisman was witnessing referee Simon Hooper hand him a foul after having played the advantage when his inch-perfect pass was about to set Jack Grealish up to score a last-gasp winner against Spurs.
Erling Haaland could potentially have walked away with a pair of brilliant assists for Pep Guardiola’s men on a day where he showcased a different side to his game as a creator.
Unfortunately, it seemed like it was just not meant to be for Haaland in any sense on Sunday.
