Manchester City fans have now received an update on Kevin De Bruyne as the 32-year-old closes in on a return to action.
It was Belgian journalist Kristof Terreur who made the comments when speaking on the BBC’s Euro Leagues podcast.
So, what was said about Manchester City No.17 Kevin De Bruyne? Let’s take a look…
Kevin De Bruyne update
Well, Manchester City fans could be about to see a brand new version of the Belgium international when he returns to the starting XI.
Terreur claims that De Bruyne – who is attracting interest from Saudi Arabia – has done “lots of work” on his upper body as he attempts to make himself more robust.
He said: “He’s lost some weight. People who know Kevin a bit will have already seen it. He’s done lots of work on his upper body. Before, everything was purely talent, he didn’t have to work body-wise.
“Now with that hamstring injury, he said himself in an interview that he’s looking after his food again, looking after his body and doing lots of strength exercises – more than he ever did.
“That injury has been, for him, like a warning sign. You’re turning 33 years old, you still want to play for two or three more years, you need to do something extra about your body.”

Now, that is very interesting news.
Manchester City fans could be in for a treat
De Bruyne has never exactly been a lightweight anyway, showing a good level of physical power while combining that with otherworldly technical skills to get fans off seats.

However, if the Belgian now returns to the pitch even stronger than he was before – while also maintaining that technical ability – Manchester City fans really could be in for a treat in the second half of the 2023/24 campaign.
Hopefully, De Bruyne’s work pays off, and he can avoid any further injury setbacks at the Etihad Stadium.
