After the contest, Micah Hamilton, who himself bagged his first goal in the competition also described the 20-year-old as a “top player.”

Bobb’s strike summarised his game perfectly, as his sumptuous dribbling and calmness in front of goal were on display.

“I think Oscar [Bobb] is the reality. The goal he has done is unbelievable, so it’s [a] really, really, top-class goal, like Oscar has done”, he said in his press conference (via HaytersTV).

Oscar Bobb has shades of Phil Foden in his game

As Oscar Bobb bossed proceedings after being handed a start by Pep Guardiola against Red Star Belgrade, he also exhibited shades of Manchester City teammate Phil Foden in his game.

The youngster, much like Foden is a true technician, left-footed and at his absolute best in advanced areas of the pitch.

Similarly, Oscar Bobb is also a terrific dribbler, as he scored the type of goal that Phil Foden has been accustomed to since breaking through at Manchester City.

While one would have argued in the past that Bobb is not as dynamic as Foden has always been, his stunner showcased that at times, he was perhaps adjusting to senior football as opposed to not being a blockbuster attacker himself.

Training and playing with the five-time Premier League winner, day in and day out, the versatile talent is likely to learn a lot and if he even develops into half the player the former is, the Sky Blues have every reason to be excited.
