Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola was quizzed about the prospect of managing Spain in the future.
After his side defeated Urawa Red Diamonds 3-0 in Jeddah, Guardiola was asked by The Times about whether he would be interested in the job one day.
The 52-year-old’s current deal at City is set to run out in 2025, which has prompted a barrage of questions about his plans as a manager after his time at the club draws to a close.
Pep Guardiola responds to Spain manager links by making honest admission about Manchester City future
Hailed as “the best manager in the world” by Jack Grealish, whether the Spaniard will put pen to paper and prolong his dynasty at the Etihad Stadium remains unknown to the public.
In November last year, the two-time treble-winner decided to sign a two-year contract at City.
When quizzed about the idea of managing Spain in the future, Pep Guardiola chose to discuss how he feels about life at Manchester City.

“I’m so really happy being here with this club [Manchester City]. Really, really happy. Still, I have one more year. Hopefully, they don’t sack me and I can stay here, the time still with this club”, he told The Times.
It would be sensible for Pep Guardiola to decide his future next season
Whether Pep Guardiola decides to sign a new contract at Manchester City or take over a national side, it would be advisable for him to take such a huge decision next season.
After all, things and feelings change at the drop of a hat in football.
If Guardiola chooses to depart City in 2025, he will also have to uproot his life in Manchester after nine years.
As a result, it would be much wiser for the Spaniard to sit on his decision and assess whether which project motivates him the most during his final campaign in England.
Despite winning the treble last season, it seems like the current crop of players at Manchester City are driven to reach the top once again, which must be music to any manager’s ears.
However, Pep Guardiola knows best and until he decides where his future lies, the world will simply have to wait patiently to discover his next move.
