Oscar Bobb has signed a new contract at Manchester City – and Pep Guardiola has been speaking about the talented youngster following his big news.
Bobb has put pen to paper on a new deal at the Etihad, keeping him at the club until the summer of 2029. This, after Pep Guardiola had said in a press conference last week that he hoped Bobb would stay at the club for ‘many, many years’.
It is thought he will now earn around £50,000 per week, which is a three times increase on his previous salary.
It is a just reward for Bobb, who was been very lively this season when coming on in games for City.
The 20-year-old has been a real livewire, and has also come up with some big moments, such as his injury-time winner against Newcastle United in the Premier League in January.
There is so much to like about him, and Pep Guardiola has shared the thing he likes the most about the Norwegian starlet…
Pep Guardiola hails Oscar Bobb’s work ethic as youngster agrees new contract at Manchester City

Pep Guardiola faced the media yesterday ahead of the club’s FA Cup fifth-round clash with Luton Town at Kenilworth Road.
There is a strong possibility that Bobb will actually be starting the game, given the fairly quick turnaround from the weekend.
Bobb was an unused substitute in City’s game with Bournemouth on Saturday and will therefore be very fresh for tonight’s game.
City fans will hope he gets another chance, and Pep will certainly have no hesitation throwing him in if he feels the game is right for him.
Yesterday, the manager reacted to the news of the youngster’s new deal, and spoke about the thing that impresses him the most about Bobb. He said (via mancity.com): “He deserves it. I’m very happy. [The most impressive thing about him]? Application [and] his commitment and work ethic. Without the application, he would not be here.
“[But] the most difficult part is now for Oscar. Arrive, and to make an impact is the most easiest one.
“The really difficult one is to stay there for a long time and the minutes you play to perform well and earn more minutes… that is the part that is most difficult.
“For a young player to arrive and make some appearances, many can do it. But to be in the Premier League and to be at City for many years… this is the most difficult thing.”
No surprises here
It is hardly surprising to hear Pep talk up Bobb’s work rate as the thing that impresses him the most.
While he is obviously a terrific technician, the same can be said for many young players at the club, given the footballing culture at the Etihad and the CFA.
So it is going to take a strong work ethic to set you apart, and Bobb has clearly worked his socks off to get to where he is now.
The Norway international has obviously paid close attention to everything everyone has taught him and as a result, he is now the top prospect for arguably the best team in the world.
