Jamie Carragher has now called on Manchester City to speed up the legal situation involving the Premier League and these 115 charges.
The 45-year-old spoke about the ongoing case for The Overlap.

Well, the Sky Sports pundit – who recently criticised Ederson – has now pushed Manchester City to inject some urgency into the situation involving the Premier League.
Carragher argues that, given the fact Manchester City insist they have done nothing wrong, there should be no delay in providing the evidence to reinforce that.
The man from Bootle said: “The difference is, Everton were working with the Premier League, Manchester City are being evasive with the Premier League. Pep Guardiola said last season, we want this sorted out as quickly as possible. Manchester City say they have done nothing wrong, they have the evidence to prove they’ve done nothing wrong – so what are we waiting for?
“If you haven’t done nothing wrong… 115 charges, in any walk of life, why would anyone want something like that hanging over you? Why is it dragging on? Pep Guardiola said last year, we want this sorted as quickly as possible, as anyone would do.”
Carragher makes a good point – although even if Manchester City did send over handfuls of evidence, it would still take ages for the Premier League to analyse every document.
For example, David Ornstein of The Athletic mentioned on The Overlap that Everton’s situation – which involved just one case rather than 115 – required thousands of documentation pages.
Therefore, Manchester City’s situation is far, far more complex.
Manchester City should want these 115 charges solved as soon as possible
Carragher is right – if Manchester City are innocent, surely the Citizens can prove that, and would want to prove that immediately.
The longer this situation drags on, the more people are going to dilute Manchester City’s achievements, with many already playing the treble win down due to the financial charges.
Hopefully, this issue is sorted out as quickly as possible – although some involved in the legal world believe it could take until 2027 to solve.
