Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has revealed when Erling Haaland will return from his ongoing injury.
Ahead of his side’s upcoming clash with Red Star Belgrade, the Catalan tactician was asked about Haaland’s fitness in his press conference (via Manchester Evening News journalist Joe Bray).
The Spaniard recently revealed that the Norwegian megastar could either be fit to feature against Crystal Palace on Saturday or during the Club World Cup in Saudi Arabia.
Pep Guardiola reveals when Erling Haaland will return from injury
However, the 52-year-old now has a day in mind for when the 23-year-old could return from his current fitness issue.
Haaland was ruled out of Manchester City’s recent 2-1 victory against Luton Town, with Alvarez replacing him as his side’s No.9.
Now, Pep Guardiola has provided an update when it comes to Erling Haaland and his injury.

“He will be back on Thursday, day after tomorrow and we see how he feels. I cannot answer [about if he can play on Saturday], I don’t know right now. [In] The next press conference, I can be more precise about his condition”, Guardiola said in his press conference on Tuesday (via Manchester Evening News journalist Joe Bray).
Futile to take a risk with Erling Haaland by starting him too soon
While it seems like Erling Haaland could recover in time from his injury to be in contention for Manchester City’s contest against Crystal Palace in the Premier League, Pep Guardiola and his staff would be advised not to take any risks with his fitness.
Ultimately, not even half of the full season has been completed so far and City find themselves in the race to win three competitions once again.
If there is even a slight possibility of Erling Haaland aggravating his injury, that could singlehandedly put an end to the Sky Blues’ hopes of winning any major silverware this campaign.
Instead, Manchester City goalscorer Julian Alvarez should be trusted to lead the line in the meantime. Since last season, the World Cup winner has shown he has the minerals to become a world-class striker one day.
