Cole Palmer is one of the best young players around, so I was surprised when Manchester City decided to sell him to Chelsea in the summer transfer window.
Chelsea paid Manchester City an initial transfer fee of £40 million for Cole Palmer.
Palmer is flourishing at Chelsea at the moment.
We now know that the 21-year-old, who can operate as an attacking midfielder or as a winger, himself wanted to leave City for Chelsea for regular playing time.
But, when the move did happen, I was surprised.
Manchester City prospect Oscar Bobb better than Chelsea’s Cole Palmer
A new report has now emerged regarding Palmer.
According to The Daily Star, one of the main reasons why Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola felt that Palmer could leave was the emergence of Oscar Bobb.

The report has claimed that Guardiola thinks Bobb is “an even hotter prospect” than Palmer.
City, who won the Premier League, the UEFA Champions League and the FA Cup last season, are now ready to hand the 20-year-old Norway international forward a new contract worth £36,000 per week.
Bobb is currently earning £12,000 per week.
My View: Trust in Pep Guardiola’s judgement on Oscar Bobb
I wish Cole Palmer all the best at Chelsea.
Palmer is a very good and promising young player, and I hope that he fulfils his potential at Chelsea.
However, I urge all Manchester City fans to trust Pep Guardiola’s judgement regarding Oscar Bobb.
Bobb is only 20 and has a bright future.
If Guardiola thinks that Bobb is better than Palmer, then I believe that City fans should trust him.
Bobb has made three substitute appearances in the Premier League, one substitute appearance in the UEFA Champions League, and has played once in the EFL Cup for City this season.
