This summer is set to be a significant one in the history of Manchester City.

Pep Guardiola’s era is already considered one of the greatest in Premier League history and after winning four titles in a row, the Manchester club handed over their English top-flight crown to Liverpool at the weekend.

That will not have gone down well with the Man City boss and during the summer, the 54-year-old will look to put the wrongs of the 2024/25 campaign right.

Everyone at Liverpool expects Man City to bounce back for the 2025/26 campaign, with new signings set to arrive at the Etihad Stadium, while the summer months will see one top talent train with the Manchester club ahead of his move in 2027.

Cavan Sullivan to train with Man City

Man City signed Cavan Sullivan during the summer of 2024, who would then go on to become the youngest Major Soccer League player in history just weeks later.

The 15-year-old is considered to be one of the best talents in world football with his Philadelphia Union manager at the time, Jim Curtin, telling MLS.com that “the sky’s the limit” for the youngest.

The American coach would also go on to say about Sullivan: “He’s a generational talent, one who can really change the game by himself.”

Sullivan is set to join Man City when he turns 18 in 2027, however, Fabrizio Romano is reporting that the American is set to begin training with the Premier League club during the summer, which is a work in progress with Philadelphia Union.

This will allow Guardiola and City to have a look at Sullivan ahead of his 2027 move as the midfielder has only featured in three MLS games this season.

Man City are keen to bring Florian Wirtz to the Etihad this summer and the German could form a long-term partnership with Sullivan in the years to come.

Youngest players to play for Man City

With Sullivan set to join Man City in 2027, that will rule the American out of some history as the 15-year-old will not be able to become the Manchester club’s youngest ever player.

That record currently belongs to Glyn Pardoe who made his Man City debut at 15 years, 10 months and 10 days in a match against Birmingham City on 11th April 1962.

Youngest players to play for Man City

Out of the current Man City squad Phil Foden is the youngest to have made his debut at 17. The midfielder has gone on to become a key player at the Premier League side and although he has struggled this season, Ryan Giggs expects the England star to bounce back ahead of the new campaign.

It remains to be seen what becomes of Sullivan at Man City, however, all the noise indicates that the Manchester club are getting a top talent.
