Manchester City have had a strong start to their 2024/25 season.
In the Premier League, with four games played, City have won all four and scored more goals (11) than any other side in the division in doing so.
Then in the Champions League, Pep Guardiola’s team drew 0-0 with Inter Milan on Wednesday night at the Etihad Stadium in their first game of the league phase of the competition.
With a big league game against Arsenal ahead of them this weekend, one particular figure in City’s squad, who has had a big impact on the season so far, has found himself being spoken about in glowing terms by one former Premier League striker.

Peter Crouch says he loves watching Erling Haaland play for Man City
In a recent edition of That Peter Crouch Podcast, the former striker had this to say about Erling Haaland and his performances in the Premier League so far this season.
He said: “Haaland’s absolutely flying at the moment, scoring goals for fun, it’s ridiculous, isn’t it?
“Do you know what I loved about his goal last weekend, the second goal? The way he didn’t even look at [Ethan] Pinnock, he’s literally just left his body there and bounced off him.
“As a centre-forward, for me, it was just a beautiful centre-forward play. And then he goes through and there’s the corners of heads and dinks it, I was just all over that goal.
“He’s becoming my favourite player in the Premier League. I love watching him play. Absolutely love it. He’s ruthless.
“I know, obviously, it’s easy to say he’s one of the best players in the Premier League, and if not the best, but I just love watching him play. He’s a superstar.”
Haaland has been in top form this season
Starting all four of City’s league games this season, Haaland has bagged nine goals in total, which is more than all other 19 sides in the division have.
In fact, the 24-year-old has had more shots on target (13) in the league than Everton (12), Southampton (12), West Ham United (10) and Ipswich Town (8).
Crouch isnt the only pundit to highlight how impressive the City striker has been this season, as Micah Richards recently said that Haaland’s overall game has improved a lot.
Having been in such hot goalscoring form so far in his third campaign at the Etihad Stadium since arriving in 2022 for £51m, it’s easy to see why Crouch thinks so highly of Haaland and what he’s been doing on the pitch.
