Manchester City have had a wide range of top attacking players represent the club across the Premier League era.
One, for example, is Raheem Sterling, who spent seven years at the Etihad Stadium between 2015 and 2022.
During his time at the club, the winger appeared in 339 games in all competitions.
Across those games, the Englishman scored 131 goals, delivered 73 assists and won multiple trophies including four Premier League titles.
Despite seeing Sterling have a very successful period with Pep Guardiola’s side, one pundit and former Premier League attacker has suggested that another winger who also had a similarly significant time with City is actually better than the former Blue.

Peter Crouch ranks Riyad Mahrez above Raheem Sterling
Appearing in a recent video uploaded on the TNT Sports TikTok channel, Peter Crouch was tasked with ranking current and former Premier League wingers based on who he thinks is the best.
After putting Riyad Mahrez in a high B-tier position, Crouch then put Sterling one space below the Algerian in the ranking.
Mahrez and Sterling were top signings for City
Crouch isn’t the first pundit and former top-flight striker to share his thoughts on the former City winger recently, as Darren Bent said earlier this month that he used to love seeing Mahrez trap the ball while on the move.
Three years after signing Sterling from Liverpool, City brought Mahrez in from Leicester City.
Before selling him to Al-Ahli in 2023 for £30m (via BBC Sport), the Manchester club saw the winger score 78 goals and supply 56 assists in 236 games across all competitions.
While both were undeniably top signings for City based on what they gave the club on the pitch in terms of goals and assists, it’s interesting that Crouch chose to put Sterling behind Mahrez instead of ahead of him.
