So much so that the Champions League have adjudged Rodri as their Player of the Season for the 2022/2023 season, after he sealed the treble for Manchester City against Inter Milan.

Rodri deserves all the praise in the world

Often, the likes of Erling Haaland, Kevin De Bruyne and John Stones, more recently often dominate the headlines.

As a result, it a nice to see Manchester City lynchpin Rodri get the plaudits from the Champions League himself after his heroics against Inter Milan.

The 26-year-old has put himself in another stratosphere amongst defensive midfielders as both on and off the ball, he is simply on another level to the rest.

In fact, across all competitions, Rodri has been monstrous, with many claiming that he is already at Fernandinho’s level, if not having had surpassed him.

The former Atletico Madrid midfielder is making it impossible for him to be left underappreciated anymore as the masses seem to be realising how special of a footballer he really is.
