Manchester City have seemingly completed all their summer signings with relative ease, bringing in Rayan Ait-Nouri, Tijjani Reijnders, Marcus Bettinelli and Rayan Cherki in time for the FIFA Club World Cup.
However, there are some roadblocks that could make life difficult for Pep Guardiola’s men for the rest of the summer.
One of them includes Manchester City having 17 non-homegrown players as they have reached the maximum capacity allowable by the Premier League and Champions League regulations.
Furthermore, several players linked with exits like Ederson Moraes pledged his future to Manchester City, which makes it a challenge for Hugo Viana and Co to simply move players on.
Newcastle United will not sell Man City target Tino Livramento for £165 million
Tino Livramento is a player who is both homegrown and one who would help Manchester City replace Kyle Walker, killing two birds with one stone if he made the move to the Etihad Stadium.
Manchester City hugely admire Livramento, who is their dream target to reinforce the right-back position.
However, journalist Craig Hope has mentioned in his report for the Daily Mail that even if City were to stump up a fee of £165 million, Newcastle United would not sell the Englishman, writing: “No! City’s interest is genuine and it remains. My sources in Manchester say they’d go to at least £65 for the defender. The word back from Tyneside? Not even £165 million would be enough!”

Livramento, who Ashley Cole lauded is considered irreplaceable by Newcastle due to his age, tactical malleability and natural talent — three reasons why Manchester City seem to admire him as well.
“Newcastle know Livramento is as good as irreplaceable, given his age profile and versatility, not to mention his ability and huge scope for improvement. There is also a feeling that young players like Livramento and Lewis Hall know that they’re best off under Howe’s tutelage at this stage in their career.”
Manchester City’s stance on signing Denzel Dumfries
All Manchester City can do is admit defeat in their pursuit to sign Livramento and move on to other targets.
With Denzel Dumfries being available for £21.5 million due to his release clause being in place that remains active until mid-July, he has been linked with a move to City.
However, Manchester City have no interest in signing Dumfries as sources close to the club have rubbished their links to the marauding Inter Milan right-back.
