Manchester City look set to replace some previously key players this summer.
Kevin De Bruyne has already announced his exit – with Hugo Viana pushing to sign Florian Wirtz from Bayer Leverkusen as a replacement for the Belgian.
John Stones could also be sold, with Manchester City already spending heavily on Abdukodir Khusanov and Vitor Reis in January to bolster the centre-back department for the future.
Ederson is another who could depart as he approaches the final 12 months of his contract at the Etihad Stadium – and a player Pep Guardiola adores in Gianluigi Donnarumma could replace the Brazilian.
Manchester City monitoring Gianluigi Donnarumma situation at PSG
Sport Italia have now mentioned Manchester City as a potential destination for the Italy international.
The Italian news outlet state that PSG are yet to offer Donnarumma a new contract, with his current terms expiring in June 2026 – the same as Ederson.
As a result, several clubs have taken notice of the situation.

Sport Italia state that Juventus have already made a proposal, while Inter Milan have also registered their intention to sign Donnarumma, but are hoping to secure a free transfer next summer rather than an agreement now.
Manchester City are mentioned as the only Premier League side paying attention – it is said the Citizens would have no problem when it comes to affording the deal, although a move depends on what happens with Ederson.
What has Pep Guardiola previously said about Gianluigi Donnarumma?
Guardiola is a huge fan of Donnarumma – even praising the PSG No.1 as far back as 2017 when the goalkeeper was just 18 years of age.
The Spaniard said: “Donnarumma is a top, top goalkeeper, definitely. He’s big. He has huge skill for 18 years old.
“It would depend on him and his teammates whether he played well (in the Premier League) or not but good players can play anywhere.”
While these comments add credence to what Sport Italia are reporting, it does provide question marks over another move in the works.
Manchester City had agreed a deal to sign Diogo Costa from Porto this summer – according to Foot Mercato – with Viana an admirer of the Portugal international.
However, the story involving Donnarumma would now suggest there is still a long way to go in the hunt for a new goalkeeper at Manchester City.
