Manchester City are very familiar when it comes to loaning out some of their younger players.
The Manchester club have been involved in many transfer deals over the tears that have seen players from the academy join other clubs on temporary terms to give them the chance to play at a senior level on a consistent basis.
For example, City have loaned out players such as James McAtee, Luke Mbete, Mahamadou Susoho and Josh Wilson-Esbrand among others.
The previous summer transfer window not only saw the Blues sell some big-name figures such as Joao Cancelo and Julian Alvarez, but also loan out some more players on temporary deals out of the Etihad Stadium.
Now that another international break has arrived, this has presented the opportunity to assess how one of City’s current loanees has fared this season so far.

Callum Doyle’s loan spell at Norwich City so far
Back in August, after he helped Leicester City win promotion back to the Premier League last season in his previous loan move, Callum Doyle joined Norwich City on another season-long loan deal.
Since then, the defender has started all nine of the Canaries’ Championship games, completing the full 90 minutes in all but one of them.
Also, despite predominantly being a centre-back, the 21-year-old has featured in the left-back role on a handful of occasions for Norwich.
This could interest Pep Guardiola given how he has used predominant centre-backs such as Nathan Ake and Josko Gvardiol in his City side over recent years.
Not only has he shown his versatility, but Doyle has also shown how useful he can be in terms of providing goal contributions, as he has scored one goal and delivered three assists across those nine league matches.
Described by Chris Sutton as a “powerful” player on Sky Sports News, Doyle has also shown his defensive ability in his latest loan away from City.
Specifically, the centre-back has the second-highest total of clearances (26) in the Norwich squad, as well as having the second-highest combined total of tackles and interceptions (29).
His overall performances have earned Doyle a solid season rating of 7.18/10 from WhoScored, making him the second-highest-rated player at Norwich.
What has Doyle said about playing for Man City?
Even though it’s still early in the season, Doyle’s efforts for Norwich so far should delight Guardiola and potentially put him in a good position to be given a place in City’s first-team squad for next season.
In fact, over the summer, Doyle said it was his dream to work with Guardiola, which could end up being a reality on a regular basis if he continues to impress for Norwich this season.
