Manchester City have a sensational squad but which players are they at risk of losing for nothing next summer?
Pep Guardiola has been blessed with a world class collection of players for every position and Manchester City’s expert squad management means they’re rarely at risk of losing any of them for free.
However, two first-teamers are out of contract in 2025 while a host of deals are coming to an end in 2026.

Ilkay Gundogan – 2025

Ilkay Gundogan made a heroic return to City in the summer of 2024, signing an initial one-year contract until the summer of 2025.
However, there is an option for an additional year that City can activate or will be automatically triggered if the German plays a certain number of games.
Kevin De Bruyne – 2025

Kevin De Bruyne has entered the final year of his contract and the brilliant Belgian’s future at the Etiahd has come under question this summer with strong links with a move to Saudi Arabia.
