Manchester City recently announced the transfer of Savinho as their first signing of the summer transfer window.

After seeing the likes of Sergio Gomez and Liam Delap wave goodbye to the Etihad Stadium on permanent deals, City announced on their website that they had secured a deal for the Brazilian winger from Troyes.

Now though, footage has emerged of Savinho’s first interaction with Pep Guardiola following his arrival in Manchester.

What Pep Guardiola said to Savinho on his first day at Man City

In a recent edition of Inside City shared on the club’s official YouTube channel, Guardiola said this to Savinho when the two met at the Etihad Campus earlier this week following the winger’s announcement as a new City player.

He said: “You will enjoy it. The La Liga is top and the Premier League is amazing. The weather is a bit cold. But now you can go and get some sun.”

Savinho could be an exciting player for City

Even though City signed the 20-year-old from Troyes, he spent last season on loan at Girona, scoring 11 goals and delivering 10 assists in 41 appearances across La Liga and the Copa del Rey.

The winger ended the previous domestic campaign with the highest number of successful take-ons (104), progressive carries (181) and goal-creating actions (25) in La Liga.

His overall performances ultimately earned the attacker an impressive season rating of 7.29/10 from WhoScored, making him the fourth-highest-rated player in the entire division.

This showcases how much of an exciting player Savinho, who said in his first interview with City that Riyad Mahrez is an inspiration to him, could be for the Manchester club.

Now that Guardiola has told the new City signing that he is going to enjoy being at the club and playing in the Premier League, this should definitely excite a lot of supporters heading into the new season.
