Manchester City have sealed the signing of Gianluigi Donnarumma from Paris Saint-Germain.

While Manchester City signed Donnarumma on deadline day, the move has been officially announced on Tuesday.

The former AC Milan sensation’s arrival means there remain question marks over whether he will be Pep Guardiola’s starting goalkeeper or James Trafford.

As Guardiola has always admired Donnarumma, Manchester City have got their hands on the Italian — leading PSG fans to pay tribute to the 26-year-old on X after he exited the French capital.

A third fan admitted that while Donnarumma’s spell at the Parc des Princes was far from flawless, he is a PSG legend after playing a central role in their treble triumph last season: “His four years have not been perfect but he played a major role in our conquest of the Champions League. For that, he will forever remain a legend of the club. Thank you for everything, Gigio, and all our best wishes.”

A fourth supporter was especially grateful for the Castellemmare di Stabia-born shotstopper’s incredible displays at the backend of the 2024/2025 campaign: “Thank you Donnarumma, thanks for everything and these exceptional last six months, even if there were ups and downs and controversies, the ending is beautiful, you leave as a legend.”

A fifth fan admitted that Donnarumma’s time in Paris was a mixed bag but his outstanding performances in the Champions League last season have cemented his status as an icon of the club: “Thanks for everything, champion. Your time here was mixed but your fabulous last six months erase all the rest. You are etched for eternity in the club’s history.”

Finally, a sixth PSG fan sent a heartfelt message to Donnarumma after his move to Manchester City was confirmed, writing: “Thank you for everything, Donnarumma. You leave as a legend. I will miss you. Thank you again for the Champions League! I wish you the best for the rest of your career.”

Donnarumma planned to play in the Premier League and while his dream is set to be fulfilled, all the classy messages from the PSG supporters will warm his heart when reflecting on his time in Paris.
