Last season, Erling Haaland and Phil Foden were Manchester City’s two best attacking players.
Despite Haaland’s injury woes and wasteful finishing at times, he still managed to score 27 goals and finish as the Premier League’s top goalscorer; with Bukayo emerging as Arsenal’s top goalscorer in the league with 16 goals in comparison.
For context, only 12 other players in Premier League history have scored more than 25 goals in a single league season: Alan Shearer, Andy Cole, Mohamed Salah, Thierry Henry, Cristiano Ronaldo, Sergio Aguero, Didier Drogba, Robbie Fowler, Robin van Persie, Wayne Rooney, Kevin Phillips and Luis Suarez.
As for Foden, he registered 19 goals and eight assists in the league in a season where he took over the reins from Kevin De Bruyne’s as Manchester City’s go-to difference-maker from midfield.
During the upcoming 2024/2025 season, the City pair are expected to have brilliant seasons once again.

Jill Scott makes bold claim about Manchester City wonderkid now
Haaland will be itching to have a season similar to his debut campaign at the Etihad Stadium where is fully fit for a majority of the game and can score more than 30 goals in the league — especially after a summer of watching Euro 2024 from afar due to Norway’s failure to qualify.
Foden will be determined to build on his best season in a Manchester City shirt as well.
However, during the latest episode of The Overlap’s Stick To Football show, Jill Scott was quizzed about which player will win the Premier League Player of the Season award.
Instead of picking either Haaland or Foden, the pundit opted for Oscar Bobb.
Jill Scott said: “Oscar Bobb.”
Ian Wright asked: “Is he going to play consistently?”
Scott replied: “I think he will.”
Oscar Bobb could emerge as the Premier League’s biggest surprise package
Considering Bobb only started two Premier League games last season, while the masses are aware of his talent, fans and pundits across the globe are yet to see the heights he could hit at the elite level.
Don Hutchison praised Bobb and described him as a “beautiful player” who could set the world alight during the upcoming campaign.
With the £25,000-a-week man getting more of a look-in since pre-season as a right-winger, the Norwegian could explode into life if he is handed more regular minutes.
The 21-year-old is also a relative unknown commodity for defenders in the Premier League.
The surprise factor Bobb can bring to the table alongside his incredible natural talent could propel him towards having a special season.
Whether these factors translate to the youngster winning the Premier League Player of the Season award, as Jill Scott claimed will only uncover themselves over time.
