Manchester City have several youngsters at their disposal who will be determined to have an excellent season after becoming regular starters in the side since pre-season.
James McAtee expressed his dream to play for City — emphasising that his focus is not on getting regular minutes and instead, learning from Pep Guardiola and some of the best players in the world.
With Guardiola recently confirming that Nico O’Reilly will be in the first-team via journalist Joe Bray, he has a chance to further convince the Manchester City boss about his quality after starting in his side’s triumph in the FA Community Shield against Manchester United.
While Rico Lewis will also be hoping that he can finally usurp Kyle Walker as City’s starting right-back.
But the young player at the Etihad Stadium who seems the likeliest to set the world alight during the upcoming season is Oscar Bobb.

Don Hutchison makes fresh Oscar Bobb claim ahead of new season
Ian Wright praised Bobb after his showing in the Community Shield as well; claiming he deserved to be handed the Man of the Match award.
The 21-year-old seems ready to take the 2024/2025 campaign by storm, judging by his sparkling displays in pre-season, against Manchester United and notably, how much he seems to have further elevated his game since breaking through into the side last season.
Don Hutchison feels out of any youngster in the Premier League, Bobb stands out as the one who he reckons could have the ultimate breakthrough season.
Hutchison said via ESPN FC: “I got asked from the Premier League to pick a young player to watch out for this season, and I went Oscar Bobb. I just think he is going to have more minutes. We saw the quality. We go back to the Newcastle game when he scored a brilliant goal when [Kevin] De Bruyne came off the bench and he reversed that pass for the assist. Beautiful player to watch.”
Oscar Bobb will have plenty of competition to become a starter
The £50,000-a-week man will face competition from the likes of Savinho, Bernardo Silva and Phil Foden for a starting spot next season.
As talented as Bobb is, for him to become a starter will be a massive challenge.
But so far, it seems like the highly-rated wonderkid is up for the task.
Ultimately, as long as Bobb can produce similarly impactful displays to the one he did against Erik ten Hag’s side, Pep Guardiola will find it a challenge to leave him out of the starting lineup.
If the silky technician is afforded the chance to get regular minutes, he could have a season to remember.
