Danny Murphy has said Ederson Moraes is the best goalkeeper he has ever seen with the ball at his feet.
The pundit was discussing Liverpool’s Alisson Becker and the Manchester City No.1 on talkSPORT.
Heurelho Gomes recently claimed that not only is the £100,000-a-week (Sport Rac) man a “top, top goalkeeper” but he is also “more complete” than Alisson, who many consider the best in the world in his position.

In November, Micah Richards claimed he is yet to see a goalkeeper in the Premier League era with the treble-winner’s level of “composure on the ball.”
Shay Given also noted that with the five-time Premier League winner at Manchester City’s disposal, it is almost like they have “11 outfield players” on the pitch.
Now, Danny Murphy has given Ederson the ultimate compliment any modern-day goalkeeper could get.
“Obviously, Alisson at Liverpool, amazing goalkeeper but there’s Ederson, probably the best goalkeeper I’ve ever seen with his feet and they’re both obviously Brazilian”, he said on talkSPORT.
Ederson could be regarded as the undisputed best if he becomes slightly less error-prone
It is hard to disagree with Danny Murphy as Ederson is simply tremendous on the ball and has been for several years, especially at the Etihad Stadium.
However, it seems like despite the 30-year-old’s world-class performances for a number of seasons, he would likely not be the common pick for the title of the best goalkeeper in the world.
Perhaps a key reason behind this is because Ederson tends to make the odd mistake in between the sticks.
This season as well, he made grave errors against Chelsea and Tottenham, gifting Nicolas Jackson and Son Heung-min crucial goals in both fixtures respectively.
But if Ederson does his best to eradicate this flaw in his game, he could be regarded as the undisputed best goalkeeper in world football.
But it is important to emphasise that Ederson’s rare errors do not change the fact that he is an elite player and amongst the best of the best in his position.
