Matt Holland hails Pep Guardiola ahead of Man City vs Ipswich
In a recent interview shared on the official Man City website, Matt Holland had this to say when asked about Pep Guardiola and the job he’s done at the Manchester club ahead of Saturday’s match against Ipswich.
He said: “He finds answers to questions all the time. He’s always looking to adapt and improve – full-backs into midfield then centre-halves into midfield.
“The way they rotate, take the ball, keep the ball, the way they hunt the ball when they lose it, it’s such a high level – and it’s so detailed.
“Often when he signs players, it takes them a bit of time to adjust because they need to adapt to how he wants them to play.
“They have to wait their turn to come in because he wants them to understand their roles fully before integrating them into the team. You have to admire it.”
Guardiola has made himself a key figure in City’s history
After the Chelsea game, Jermain Defoe said that Guardiola’s managerial quality played a big part in seeing City beat the West London club.
During his time in charge of the Blues, the £378k-a-week manager has overlooked 474 games in total, winning 351 in the process.
Having won multiple domestic and European trophies during his time at the club, there’s no denying that Guardiola has become a big figure in City’s history.
Now that Holland has shared what he feels makes the City boss special, this should further strengthen his reputation as being the best manager in the country.
