Manchester City have seen many players wave goodbye to the club in recent years to pursue new adventures elsewhere.
For example, figures such as Leroy Sane, Ferran Torres and Gabriel Jesus are just some of the names who have walked away from Pep Guardiola’s side to join new clubs in previous transfer windows.
In the midst of another summer transfer window, the likes of Sergio Gomez and Liam Delap have now left the Etihad Stadium.
Following on from that, a pundit has now claimed that another figure from the City squad should be looking to secure himself a move away from the Manchester club.

Stewart Robson thinks Julian Alvarez should leave Man City
After Julian Alvarez recently said that he will be contemplating his future at the Manchester club this summer, Stewart Robson said this in a recent video shared on the ESPN FC YouTube channel when asked what he thinks the Argentine should do in terms of staying or leaving City.
He said: “I think he should probably go. I think he’s a good player, a very good player and he’s won all these trophies in a team sport, it has to be said.
“If I said he would be the out-and-out striker, without [Erling] Haaland, he’d be the out-and-out striker for Manchester City, would he be good enough to do that week in week out and make Manchester City the best side in Europe and the best side in the Premier League?
“I would have to say no because I’ve seen him on many occasions be the out-and-out striker by himself and I’ve been disappointed.
“I think he’s done well when he’s come on as a sub, he did well in those games when there were lots of injuries but when Pep Guardiola comes to pick his best team, for me, and I think for Pep Guardiola he doesn’t get in that best team and that’s a problem for him.”
Alvarez can’t expect to start every game for City
During the previous season, the 24-year-old appeared in 54 games across all competitions, starting 39 of them.
Having scored 19 goals and delivered 13 assists, Alvarez, who Guardiola dubbed “incredible” back in September (via The National), has proved himself to be a useful attacking figure for City.
However, with Haaland and Kevin De Bruyne missing a lot of last season through injuries, this could be why the Argentine got so many minutes throughout the campaign.
Despite his usefulness, we feel that Alvarez shouldn’t be expecting to be starting every single game for City.
Therefore, if he isn’t satisfied with his role at the club, he should look to join a side where he’d be a regular starter.
