Manchester City have had a lot of top-class players wear the shirt and win trophies for the club over the past 15 years.
However, since Pep Guardiola took charge of the Manchester club back in 2016, City have gone on to win six Premier League trophies and three major European titles.
With one of the strongest squads in Europe, one particular player from City’s squad has found himself being highlighted by a pundit for how he stands out from other players in the world right now.

Tony Cascarino shares what he thinks is weird about Erling Haaland
After picking Erling Haaland in a combined City and Arsenal XI ahead of Sunday’s match between the two clubs, Tony Cascarino said this about the striker in a recent column for The Times.
He said: “What is weird about him is that you’re not meant to run that fast at 6ft 5in. His pace is rare.
“His weakest part is his heading, but it is still decent. If you were designing a footballer you’d go 6ft 5in and quick — he’s like an android but he’s so clinical even though he hardly touches the ball.”
Haaland is a unique player
Cascarino isn’t the first pundit to highlight how clinical the City striker has looked this season, as Ian Wright said that Haaland looks like he could score two or three goals every game in his current form.
Since joining the club back in the 2022 summer transfer window, the Norwegian has scored 99 goals in 104 appearances across all competitions, winning multiple team trophies and individual awards.
This season has seen the 24-year-old bag nine goals across four Premier League games, which is more than every other side in the division has managed to score.
With Cascarino now highlighting how Haaland’s pace and lethality in front of goal mixed with his height and physicality make him such a unique player, this should strengthen the striker’s reputation as one of Europe’s standout figures.
