Manchester City have now entered the first international break of the season as Premier League leaders.
Having played three top-flight games, Pep Guardiola’s side have won them all, securing victories against Chelsea, Ipswich Town and most recently, West Ham United.
After helping City beat Julen Lopetegui’s side 3-1 at the London Stadium, one player in the City squad found himself being the topic of discussion, with a former top-flight star sharing his thoughts on the player in question.

Ian Wright hails Erling Haaland’s start to the new season
Following Erling Haaland’s latest hat-trick in City’s win over the Hammers, Ian Wright had this to say about the striker in a recent edition of The Kelly & Wrighty Show by Premier League Productions (via Optus Sport).
He said: “He’s started the season so efficiently, so clinically that you do feel that he could probably score two, three goals in any game with the chances he’s getting.”
Haaland has been on fire this season
With three league games under his belt, the 24-year-old has scored seven goals in total, picking up his tenth and 11th hat-trick for the Manchester club in the process.
After seeing the striker score his first hat-trick of the season against Ipswich, Wright backed Haaland to become the first player to score six goals in one Premier League game.
Despite only having 21 touches of the ball in 90 minutes against West Ham, the Norwegian scored three of the five attempts at goal he had, which backs up Wright’s point about how clinical he is.
Across the season, even though Antoine Semenyo (17) and Eberechi Eze (15) have racked up more shots in the league this season than Haaland (13), the City star has more shots on target than any other player in the division (9).
This further highlights how efficient and clinical the centre-forward has been so far this season, as Wright pointed out.
