Manchester City want to sign Noah Mbamba, but Philippe Clement’s Rangers have a plan to beat Pep Guardiola’s side to the Belgian’s signature.
That is according to TEAMtalk, which has outlined the plans of Rangers and Manchester City regarding Kevin De Bruyne’s Belgian compatriot.
So, what is being reported about Rangers, Manchester City and Noah Mbamba? Let’s take a look.
What’s the story?
Well, according to TEAMtalk, Manchester City want to sign Noah Mbamba, but they are facing competition from Scottish Premiership giants Rangers.
Rangers want to sign the 18-year-old Bayer Leverkusen midfielder in the January transfer window.
City’s plan is to bring Mbamba to the Etihad Stadium in the summer of 2024, having scouted him on “multiple occasions” when he was at Club Brugge.

The Citizens are unlikely to make a bid for the teenager in the January transfer window and are planning a summer move.
Rangers plan to make an attempt in the middle of the season, with a loan deal most likely.
Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich are also keen on Mbamba, who has made two substitute appearances in the Bundesliga this season.
Manchester City need not worry about Rangers competition for Noah Mbamba
In my opinion, Manchester City need not worry about competition from Rangers for Noah Mbamba.
True, Rangers could be able to take Mbamba to Ibrox in the January transfer window, but that would be only on a loan deal.
City, who won the Premier League, the UEFA Champions League and the FA Cup last season, could just sign the Belgian teenager on a permanent contract in the summer of 2024.
I believe that a move to City would appeal more to Mbamba than a transfer to Rangers in the long run.
After all, City are one of the biggest clubs in the world and regularly win major competitions. The Citizens also have Mbamba’s Belgian compatriot, Kevin De Bruyne, who is injured at the moment.
If Mbamba went to City and did well for the youth team, then he could be drafted into the senior side.
