Real Madrid are only willing to spend £44m to sign Manchester City target Alphonso Davies from Bayern Munich.

That is according to BILD in Germany.

So, what is the latest on Manchester City target Alphonso Davies? Let’s take a look…

What’s the story?

Well, it was 90min who claimed that Manchester City want to sign the Canada international.

Now, there has been a fairly positive update, as Manchester City’s fiercest rivals for Davies – Real Madrid – make it known they will only go as high as £44m to sign the defender.

BILD believe that Real Madrid are hoping to wrap up a deal with Bayern Munich for a sum of just €40m (£35m) next summer.

However, the Spanish giants will go up to £44m if need be.

That should encourage Manchester City – who have the financial power to bid well above £44m and win the race to sign Davies.

The Bayern Munich No.19 has been in superb form once again so far this season, providing three assists in eight Bundesliga appearances.

Davies will only have 12 months remaining on his contract at the end of the current campaign, which is why Real Madrid are hoping to sign him for such a small fee – discussions over a new deal are yet to advance.

Alphonso Davies could take Manchester City up a gear

If Manchester City manage to sign the 22-year-old, it could be a transformative addition.

Davies is among the quickest footballers on the planet, while he is also one of the best dribblers around.

Having someone like that at left-back behind a similarly rapid and tricky player in Jeremy Doku would cause chaos for opponents, and give Manchester City a totally different dimension down the left.

Be sure to keep an eye on this situation, as anything could happen in 2024.
