Real Madrid sensation Rodrygo Goes has admitted that it seems like an impossible task to stop Manchester City phenomenon Erling Haaland.
The £51.2 million (Eurosport) man is currently the top scorer in Europe with a staggering 51 goals in all competitions for Pep Guardiola’s side.
As Manchester City travel to the Santiago Bernabéu to face Real Madrid in the first leg of the Champions League semi-final, Rodrygo has acknowledged the threat Erling Haaland poses.
Real Madrid winger Rodrygo admits Haaland threat
Even Paul Merson recently claimed that it is ‘scary’ how unstoppable the Norwegian striker is for any and every side in the world.
Since his arrival at the Etihad Stadium, the 22-year-old has not merely been elite but has playing at a level that has already made many consider him as one of the best No.9’s we have ever seen.
With Manchester City and Real Madrid set to lock horns in the biggest blockbuster game of the season, Rodrygo has acknowledged that Erling Haaland is virtually impossible to tame.

“Haaland scores a lot of goals. No one knows how to stop him. I hope he doesn’t score against us. Manchester City are always scary. They are a great team, they play very well, but we are confident that we can win”, he said while speaking to RTVE.
MCN View: Manchester City now have the perfect Champions League striker
Not to suggest that Sergio Aguero was not a generational striker himself but his successor is tailor-made for Europe.
As Real Madrid wideman Rodrygo said, Manchester City hitman Erling Haaland scores goals at a virtually unseen rate and apart from that, he allows his side to kill teams in transition.
Haaland’s frightening pace, incredible running power and superhuman strength allows a City side known to slowly but surely build attacks now threaten teams in counter-attacking situations.
In the Champions League where games tend to be end-to-end, teams that thrive in transition often go far.
This added dimension of directness that has been brought by a once-in-a-lifetime goalscorer like Haaland is certainly worth being wary of.
