Pep Guardiola will reportedly be taking a close look at Maximo Perrone in pre-season for Manchester City.
City’s preparations ahead of the new season are now commencing, and it’s a chance for young and fringe players to stake a claim.
The squad were back in training yesterday, and they at the CFA againtoday, before flying out for their tour of Asia.
City are flying to Tokyo first ahead of games against Yokohama F and Bayern Munich.
They will then head to Seoul to face Atletico Madrid on July 30.
Many of City’s younger players will be determined to make an impression – and apparently Perrone is going to be involved quite a bit.
Maximo Perrone set to feature heavily in Man City pre-season
According to The National News, Perrone is set to feature prominently for City in these upcoming games in Asia.

So far, Perrone has only made two first-team appearances for the club since his move from Velez Sarsfield for a little over £8 million.
He has had to be very patient so far.
He was probably never likely to get regular minutes coming in as a young player midway through the season.
City were stacked in midfield. And Pep rarely deviated away from the trio of Rodri, Kevin De Bruyne and Ilkay Gundogan.
But Perrone will have undoubtedly already learned a lot from simply rubbing shoulders with a bunch of world-class players.
A big chance for Perrone
This pre-season is a real chance for Perrone to show Guardiola what he can really do.
It is good to hear that he is going to get chances out in Asia.
Perrone is highly rated. According to Breaking The Lines, he is a ‘remarkably skillful player of rare class’. It’s very possible City have landed another Julian Alvarez in terms of bringing in another young talent from Argentina.

With Gundogan having left the club, there is a potential opening for Perrone.
It will be difficult, because there has been some talk of City seeing Bernardo Silva as a potential replacement for the German.
But with the Portuguese still heavily linked with an exit, it’s not impossible for Perrone.
