It has been reported that Bayern Munich have set their sights on signing Julian Alvarez on loan if a deal for Harry Kane falls through.
This comes from SPORT Bild, after the £14 million (BBC Sport) capped off his debut season as a Manchester City player by winning the treble.
Now, it seems like Bayern Munich view Julian Alvarez as an alternative to Harry Kane in a potential loan deal this summer.
Bayern Munich aim to sign Julian Alvarez on loan if Harry Kane transfer falls through
Branded as ‘extraordinary’ by Khaldoon Al-Mubarak himself, it is clear to see how valued the World Cup winner is within the club’s quarters.
With an impressive 17 goals and five assists in 20 starts across all competitions, the Argentine striker showcased that he is at the optimum level to start for Pep Guardiola’s men.
Now, Bayern Munich have been internally discussing the prospect of bringing in Julian Alvarez on a season-long loan as a plan B to Harry Kane, who will find it a challenge to leave Tottenham due to Daniel Levy’s unwillingness to sell him.

Considering the youngster is set to play second fiddle to Erling Haaland next season as well, Thomas Tuchel’s side are happy to test the waters and see if they can get a deal over the line.
Virtually impossible that Manchester City agree to any such deal
With Julian Alvarez having signed a one-year contract extension until 2028 in March this year, it seems highly unlikely that Manchester City strengthen a European rival like Bayern Munich by sending him on loan to them, just because they may struggle to sign Harry Kane.
In fact, the prolific marksman could especially be key to City during the start of the season, with Kevin De Bruyne out injured, playing as one of the creators behind Erling Haaland; a role he has shown bright signs in.
Furthermore, Julian Alvarez is the perfect understudy to the Norwegian superstar, which is why it would be a massive shock if he is let go in the following campaign, albeit on a temporary basis.
