It has been reported that Brighton & Hove Albion made an approach to sign Cole Palmer for £30 million earlier in this summer transfer window.
This comes from the Telegraph, after it was claimed in July that Roberto De Zerbi’s side had prioritised bringing him on a permanent basis instead of signing him on loan.
Now, it seems like Brighton & Hove Albion put their money where their mouth is by offering £30 million to sign Cole Palmer.
Brighton were willing to sign Manchester City boy-wonder Cole Palmer for £30 million
Branded as ‘unbelievable’ by Paul Dickov (via Manchester City’s official website), the 21-year-old himself admitted after the Community Shield that he has no idea about his plans moving forward ahead of next season.
While Pep Guardiola also stated in his latest press conference on Wednesday that he too is unsure whether the Englishman stays at City, leaves on loan or bids farewell to his boyhood club.
But now, it has indeed been revealed that Brighton approached Manchester City to take Cole Palmer off their hands for a fee worth £30 million.

However, the move is yet to come to fruition, as the silky winger has gone to make further headlines by scoring an absolute scorcher against Arsenal at Wembley Stadium.
It would be a blunder from the treble-winners to sell Palmer
Considering Manchester City lack a natural replacement for Riyad Mahrez so far, it would be bizarre to see them allow Cole Palmer to join Brighton this summer.
While handing the Wythenshawe-born wonderkid all of Mahrez’s minutes would be overburdening him, he could still play a key role out wide in the first-team during the upcoming campaign.
Besides, Palmer clearly has all the traits to become a world-class winger and to let the Seagulls sign him would be giving up on one of City’s best academy talents.
Instead, a loan move or giving him a role in the senior team in the following season would be ideal.
